Children & Youth Ministry   Part-Time Children's & Youth Worker (Maternity Cover) - INTERNAL CANDIDATES ONLY

We’re looking for a warm, committed follower of Jesus to join our team as a Children & Youth Worker during maternity leave cover. This is a part-time, fixed-term role focused on supporting existing programmes for children and young people aged 0–18.

You’ll work with an enthusiastic team of volunteers to run fun, faith-building sessions, care for our children and youth, and help ensure safe, welcoming spaces for them to grow in Christ.

Title: Children and Youth Worker – (Maternity Cover) – This job is currently open to INTERNAL Candidates alone

Reports to: Pastor Segun Oladokun

Start Date: September 2025 Contract: Fixed-term, 6 months (with potential 3-month extension)

Hours: 2 days/week Salary: £28,500 p.a. (pro-rata = £11,400 p.a.) Leave: 25 days p.a. + Bank Holidays (pro-rata)

Requirement: Practising Christian (as per Equality Act 2010) DBS Check: Required

This is a maternity cover role and does not replace our Children, Youth and Families Lead, who will return to the post following leave.

Role Overview:
Friday Fizz has been providing high-quality community gathering services dedicated to  nurturing and educating young minds for over 20 years. We are committed to creating a safe, loving, and stimulating environment for parents and children aged 0-5 years. Join our friendly Parent and Toddler Group to create a welcoming, supportive, and fun environment for young children and their parents.

Key Responsibilities:
Activity Planning and Delivery: Lead engaging activities for toddlers, including crafts, stories, and games
Support and Interaction: Build positive relationships with children and parents
Setup and Cleanup: Assist with room setup and tidying up afterwards
Safety and Wellbeing: Ensure the safety of all children, adhering to church policies

Qualifications:
A passion for working with young children
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well in a team
Reliability, patience, and a positive attitude
Willingness to undergo necessary training and background checks
