The Meeting Room
The meeting Room is a social rehabilitation initiative run by a local organisation, hosted in various locations including here at the King’s Church.
They operate daytime drop in centres for homeless, socially isolated and vulnerable people living within our community. They're offered a warm, safe and friendly environment, where they're made to feel welcome and have a chance make new friends, enjoy various activities and get support and advice. Refreshments and a hot lunch are provided free of charge and Meeting Room volunteers are there to listen, care and even to identify where it may be possible to refer people to appropriate agencies or professional bodies for additional help. There's also a qualified Counsellor who can offer support to those in the greatest need and regular workshops to help develop confidence and self esteem.
The goal is to be there to offer support and friendship. The Meeting Room takes place at Kings Church on Thursdays from 11am to 2pm.
